Our story
Built from one wearer’s need to keep moving.
EarFree began with a tennis problem, a cochlear implant, and a refusal to sit out.

Founder Tom Ross created his first hat after searching for a way to play tennis in Florida without worrying about sweat, movement, or his processor staying secure. What started as a personal solution became EarFree in September 2021.
Tom worked through prototypes, engineering drawings, and supplier samples to create headwear built around a real cochlear implant wearer’s experience. He still packs orders himself and personally reads the messages customers send.
Today, EarFree includes adult and children’s hats, headbands, visors, and outdoor options. The aim stays simple: help cochlear implant wearers take part in the everyday moments and activities they enjoy.
